Nexus connects young adults to Christ, to the world, and to each other for the purpose of worship, personal growth, fellowship, service, and outreach.
We are an eclectic group of young adults from the Manassas area who are attending college, established in our careers, or hanging somewhere in between. The primary focus of Nexus is to encourage individuals to take the next step in their spiritual journey. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27) We want to see our growing passion for God overflow into the lives of people in our community and the world in which we live.
From June 24th-July 8th CrossWay Fellowship is sponsoring a medical missions trip to Guatemala through Global Community Health Evangelism (http://www.facebook.com/l/81394;www.globalche.org/). Even if CrossWay isn’t your home church, but you are involved with Nexus, know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and are excited about sharing his love with others, you are invited to join us. The cost of the trip will be somewhere between $1,700 - $2,000 which includes airfare, housing and food.
We will be supporting GCHE’s ongoing ministry. Those with medical experience will likely be working directly with that while others will be working with the local community in various ways. Possibilities include:
* Helping at a local village's medical clinic
* Working on construction
* Organizing activities for children's ministries
* Working to provide safe water sources
* Helping with their women's ministry
The missions committee has published the following schedule:
*By April 4th (Easter Sunday) a commitment form and non-refundable deposit is due. ($50)
* On April 25th Sarah Brenon is going to be conducting a training day & airline fees are due. ($500)
* On May 16th we'll have another training day & the trip registration is due ($100 for each day we'll be there, so if we go for 14 days that'll be $14,000)
* On June 20th we'll have a final training day and the final cost will be due.
